Literature
just
i am everything i never wanted to be.
it's funny to realize,
five years ago i would've looked at me and thought,
"you
are the worst kind
of lost because you don't even know it,"
and now,
i see that's what i was before.
but i'm still just a fraction
of an idea
that tries so hard to show itself.
others say
i should
speak louder,
sing louder,
just
be
louder;
but i was born with vocal cords covered in
bubble wrap.
my fingers curled in,
with my arms pushing against my chest
in an x
because it marked the spot
i often fight to fill,
while
everyone else was armed with pitchforks and shovels and i clutched tightly
with my fingernails
and screamed

conspire, respire
let me tie your hair in sinews
let me
wash it with matrix and cleanse
the pyruvates waiting to be
bound
to me, let me
string them together like
photosystems in the lamella
right across the street.
we're complimentary,
anti-parallel, anti-
social, anti-everything but
let me tie your hair in something bigger
than what we have; this
micro-world is no better
than the milli-
but at least in membrane-like
folds of a scrunchie
you'll have several (dead)
parts of you close
to the macro-world inside you.
yet
you are still larger
than the hundred-hair-you-lose-a-day
and nine-litres-of-water-bam-bam-gone
and half-a-million-gone-to-waste-
on-a-diagn

dreamergirl
The Last Time I saw you,
you were down in the dirt,
[literally] on hands and knees,
looking for the bit of magic
your father had promised was toiling
just underneath the surface.
You feel it, you whispered in
a cotton hush like the vibrancy
of your voice would intimidate the
dreams you scraped at beneath the
faultlines. Daddy never told a lie
[excluding the usual good things
come to those who wait, and 'tis better
to have loved and lost, and every end
is a new beginning]. You feel it,
you whispered, trembling at the hands
the same way you did for the Pills
that couldn't quite fix the Problem.
.
I never really understood all the ways
you
